We appreciate your generosity and consideration of donating physical assets to Freewheelin'.

As we grow in serving youth and customers, we are currently full on physical storage space for donations.  At this time, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ACCEPT QUALITY, YOUTH bicycle donations such as:

  • Kid-size bikes with multiple speeds/gears (24" frames preferred)
  • Quality bike shop brand-names such as Trek, Giant, and Cannondale
  • New comfort bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, and cruisers

Our standards for bicycle donations are an important part of our mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable transportation.

WE ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO ACCEPT ACCESSORIES, PARTS, OR CLOTHING, OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Big store bikes such as Next, Magna, Roadmaster, and Pacific

  • Bikes that have been in an accident/have frame damage

  • Bikes that have a lot of rust

We want to make sure we are good stewards of your donation, as well as to the riders your bike will help.  Oftentimes, if bikes are deemed unsafe or not trustworthy, we have to recycle these for parts, which is an expense that is not put directly toward putting youth on a safe bike of their own.  It costs Freewheelin' Community Bikes approximately $40 per bicycle to repair or recycle, which are funds that are not able to go directly to our youth programs. We thank you for your generosity, and appreciate any donations to cover this cost.

We appreciate your support!  To help us empower youth to earn safe and reliable transportation, we hope you will condider a tax-deductible financial donation.

If you are bringing more than two YOUTH bicycles to us, please call (317) 926-5440 for an appointment.
