Without volunteers, Freewheelin' simply wouldn't exist. Volunteers are the heart and strength of Freewheelin'.

 

We promise to do our best to utilize your gifts and passion for the greatest impact and satisfaction. Whether you want to work with kids, wrench on bikes, or help with administrative tasks, we have a place for you. If you love kids and want to help out, but don't feel you know enough about bike mechanics, we will train you.

Right now we are especially looking for mentors for our Earn-A-Bike classes. This would entail an orientation and a bit of training (more if your mechanics are rusty) and a 2-3 hour a week commitment for at least 8 weeks.

How to become a  Freewheelin' volunteer:​

 

1. Fill out our online volunteer application.

2. Expect to hear from a Freewheelin' staff member with information to start your background check. After completing the background check, you'll get information on a required video training session.

3. Plan to attend one of our Volunteer Orientation sessions after completing the training. During the Orientation, you will learn about the history of Freewheelin', more about what we do and how we serve our local youth and cycling community, and the various ways in which you can get involved right away.

4. Be ready to go to work teaching or riding with kids, wrenching on bikes, or helping us in the way that bests suits you and us!
